Can the jump seats out of a 95 fit in a 97? If so, how do you do it. It doesn't look fun.

Chris, are you intending to put those jump seats into a '97 Disco that previously didn't have them? If so, then you're right in guessing it's not fun. You'll have to cut all your holes and drill bolt holes (probably). Otherwise, you need a torx socket to fit the seat bolts and it screws right in.

Chris,
I sold my jumpseats to a guy in Albuquerque. I actually went down (from Denver)and helped him install them. If you buy a pair, make sure you get all the hardware including the brackets and the vinyl side covers. It is quite a pain to do and I didn't take any pictures. Here is a good tip though. To get to the bolts in tight places, take your Torx (T-30?) and insert it in a 1/4" socket attached to your 1/4" drive. For the really tight spots use a 1/4" spanner (box end wrench). Good luck.
Of course, you could just pay the dealer to do it.

My understanding is the Disco Series 1 jumpseats are completely interchangeable across all years of DS1. But watch out for rear air conditioning...the driver side mounting brackets look quite different depending on rear a/c.
I bought a set of jumpseats online and installed them in my '98 over two afternoons (with no instructions). You have to work carefully (esp. cutting holes in the trim panels), but overall the installation is quite do-able with average mechanical skill.
My kids love the jump seats. You may email me specific questions.

Well, I did it. It sucked, and I have to order the proper brackets. I don't have rear air, but Gabe does. I'm using his bracket right now till I get my new ones. Thanks to all for the info.
