Anyone wired up a WARN multi-mount winch power lead to the rear of their Disco before?
I have a Warn 8K winch from another truck and I want to use it on my Disco. I got the power lead from WARN to wire up the rear of my 97 Disco. I was going to wire it up like my other truck but I have run in to some difficulties.
First of all, I have to run at least one small wire through the firewall for the switch. Then I have to ground it. I also have to mount a solenoid somewhere in the engine compartment and ground it, too. Right now my biggest problem is finding a pass through point for the wire through the firewall and finding ground locations.
Anyone ever done this or have suggestions? Thanks for your help.

Justin,

I did not run a switch into the cab. I think I ran a #4 wire to the rear. It was the same gauge wire as the Warn jumper cables for the Multi plug. Anyway, I ran it back (from the positive only) to the rear plug and grounded the plug to the frame in the rear. I just use the remote to control it and it works great. I don't have a shut off on the dash. The winch has an internal brake. No fire wall hassles.
