I would like to know the best location to mount the fog lights. I heard that it works the best if it is mounted low. Thanks.

It depends on what you want them to do. Fog lights are designed to light up short distances but give you a wider beam pattern then normal headlights. Your right, fog lights mounted low allow you to drive in fog by lighting the road only, and not giving you the glare from the little suspended particles in the fog. Case in point, if you ever turned on your high beams in fog, you'll notice that you see a lot more white from the fog. Now, if you want to light up stuff more to the sides of you while your wheeling or something, then mount them higher so that you get a more broad area for the light to cover from side to side.

Again, it depends on where you want them. If you want to use fog light, for driving - putting them on the air dam is a good idea, but with that comes a decreased in aproach angle when off road. If you mount them on a rack or something I don't think you can use them on the regular roads, I'm pretty sure the cops aren't going to be too happy with you on the interstate or something.

That is correct, in most states the roof lights are for off road use only. In some states they even have to be covered while you drive on the road.

From my experiance, I do not recommend fogs on the roof rack or at least not in the center of the rack. When I bought my disco, the previous owner had 4 PIAA 520 installed on the roof rack. Turns out they were fogs. While they were bright, a boatload of light was flooding in through the front windshield almost blinding at times. Some people do use the cornering or the fogs on the outside of the rack but I dont anymore.
