Ive recently switched to mobil 1 synthetic oil and now i smell burning oil after i drive. Is this very common with synthetics (leaking), or did the oil change people use too much oil?

Check your valve covers. LR valve cover and oil pan bolts have a tendency to work loose over time. I think that it is a result of the gaskets drying out. I had a simmilar problem on nonsynthetic oil which I cured by tighting the bolts. I think that the synthetic oil may have made the problem more obvious. Synthetic oils are thinner than nonsynthetic types when cold yet maintain their viscosity at higher temps. As such they do tend to leak more. Good luck.
