We bought a '96 this weekend and we love it. Thanks to everyone here who helped persuede me!!!!
Now to get down to business. I want to change out the fluids to synthetics or just good heavy duty stuff since I have no idea what's in there or how long its been there. I have an idea but tell me what else there is besides
Tranny
Front and rear ends
Transfer case?- do you change fluid in this?
I haven't even looked under our truck yet so don't think I'm a complete idiot for not knowing all the lube spots. Just wanted to get everyone's advise. I've heard great things about redline oils. Should these go everywhere and what are the proper applications. Also, what manuals is everyone using. Can I buy them at the local store (Haynes, Chilton) or should I find something better?
Thanks in advance.

The first thing I'd is buy a Haynes manual. It covers all of the basics for a do-it-yourselfer. I think Nathan Crabtree has Haynes manuals [email protected].

also use this as a good reference for future tune ups and other info like your diffs and so on.
