I lease a 97 disco and I am alarmed by the amount of movement of the hood when traveling at 70+ mph. Initially, I suspected a loose latch but when I stopped and pulled up on the front of the hood it seemed quite secure. Has anyone else ever noticed this and is there any need to be concerned or to make an adjustment ? Thanks

My hood bounces like that too. I have a 95. It's latched down tight, just has a bunch of room to move around.

Mine too. Just love it when I pass a semi in the opposite direction. I am always waiting for my hood to rip off and take my head off. Yeah.....just another little quirk about them. My '94 was not as bad.

Hey check the rubber adjusters under the hood. They can be adjusted and you will releive yourself of the bounce.

Best of luck,

Will

Will-how are you adjusting the rubber to stop the bounce? On my 96 the rubber stops are not adjustable? Until now, I thought the shaking hood was an option...Doug

You can also adust the latch so that it closes tighter. In some cases you have to do a little of both. Move the latch back into the hood some and move the stops out.

I had a similar problem and adjusted the latch. It can screw in or out depending on the adjustment you need and is locked in by a nut. I tightened ours and the problem has not resurfaced.

When mine bounced I simply took what Kyle states above and tightened the latch and then turned the rubber bump stops out a bit to "fill in" the gap. Mine was bouncin at high speeds pretty bad before and it was driving me nuts especially since you can see the entire front end from your "captains chair".

Best of Luck!

Will
