The nylon bushing holding the lifting arm to the window track broke. It looks like an easy fix, but I can't get the door panel off. I tried a small regular screwdriver, but it's not working well. Does someone know of a door panel tool and a source for the nylon bushing?

you have to replace the whole regulator about $75.00. I used a screw driver wraped in duct tape to pull the red things out.

The nylon bushing can be replaced with:
A part from a toilet (found it a Value)
A windshield wiper motor bushing (black rubber with a steel case) Help Brand pep boys
Any auto parts store should have the tool, or you can just pry them out with a screwdriver or stiff putty knife.

...and if you manage to really, really break one of those trim screws, Lowe's carries various sizes of automotive trim plugs in 2-packs for cheap, and one size matches the ones off the Disco (can't remember which, but I just took in the old plug and compared).

Thanks for all the info and quick responses. I will try the panel tool and toilet repair kit suggestions. I have a feeling that I will be visiting Lowe's as well.

Ron,
I was able to get the door panel off without too much damage. But I noticed that the nylon bushing attaches to a pin that is basically a rivet installed in the window lift arm. How did you get the "toilet bushing" on the lift arm pin? Second, did you have problems re-installing the lift motor while sliding the bushing back into the window track? Let ke know your secret.

It has been so long since I did it, plus it was college then so undoubtedly Jim Beam was helping out. Somehow I think I put the bushing on the end of the track with the arm and slid it all the way down back in place. As I recall I was able to pop it on over the "rivit". Does this make sense? Did you find the bushing that looks right? Make sure to lube the track up with grease or something when you are done. If you can't figure it out post a pic and I am sure I will remember how I did it. Sorry for the vague instructions.
