Its tire time and I want a little bigger and/or taller tire. Two sizes come to mind: 225/75 R16 and 215/85 R16. I am pretty sure that the 225 will fit, but what about the 215? It is about an inch taller and about the same width.

245/75-16 will fit with minor minor trimming on the rear fender lip.

I'm currently running 245/70/16 on stock suspension - as springs have sagged even more over past year, I've begun rubbing in right rear wheel well. My tires are about 29" tall with a 9" footprint. After I finally get OME springs and shocks on truck, I'll be installing at least 245/75, maybe larger if they'll fit.

Blue,
is that 9" wide at the tread or the sidewall?

Tread - where rubber meets road. Diameter is also measured after about 25,000 miles (didn't measure when new).

Looks like the bigfoot XTs have a very wide tread
for a 245 tire. They are 70s though.
They also look a little more agressive than the kellys.
Are they quiet on road?

Clint,
Those measurements I provided are for my current bigfoot AT dual-groove 245/70/16's. I haven't installed the XT's yet - waiting for shocks to arrive - then install OME springs and shocks - then see what tires will fit. I'm anticipating installing bigfoot XT 245/75/16's, but might go bigger if lift provides clearance (not afraid to trim rear fender, either). Overall, the Big O's are fatter than most other brands. That's why it's great when you can compare actual physical measurement (not on tire rack, on vehicle) as opposed to just comparing sidewall specs. Thanks for measuring your Kelly's, by the way! I'll report back on ride quality and loudness of the XT's in a week or two. I like your Kelly's, but my deal from Big O is too sweet to pass on.
