Mine would get stuck on occasion when trying to open it up in the summer. I think the window is sticking to the rubber gasket. Try opening it up and putting some Armor-all or some other silicone based stuff on the gasket all around where the sunroof sits. That should take care of it.....

Mine pops too when I go to close it, every once and a while.

I haven't narrowed it down yet.

I have found that the "pop" on my 95 is not the gasket, but the small pins that swivel down to pull the slides tight against the gasket. These pins do not seem to release all of the way before the rear of the glass is being pushed up and starting to slide back. Does anyone else have this problem?

Thanks,
Brett

Yep. Mine (94) both pop. Don't slide back anymore, either, just tilt.

Dealer said $2k to fix...tilt only is ok for now.

Working on riveting the sunshade clip back on somehow. Anyone done this?

My 94 has the same issues as Mr. Carrs...you have to push the glass up as you push the switch on both roofs. Just one of those things you put up with.

Guys, there is a simple solution to this that worked for me. Get up there and have somebody else open the sunroof, you will see that in the rear of the sunroof, on the left and right sides, are latches that slide over the latches on the rails on the glass when the sunroof closes. Get yourself some grease, and lube it all up good. Then, enjoy smooth opening and closing of your roofs. Apply more grease when popping comes back. I used waterproof bicycle chain grease.

At least this worked for me.

No problem, watch the popping and don't use them if they do. It stresses the screws that hold the sunroof glass onto the rails and can snap them. I know first hand. I have snapped 2 so far. They are 30 bucks a pop! I haven't replaced the second one, going to go to a hardware store and "roll my own".

I've tried to grease those latches that RVR OVR (Tom) has mentioned, but it still doesn't work. It seems as though the glass doesn't get high enough to clear the latches, and as the glass slides back it gets wedged. When I look at the pin that forces the glass up and back, I've noticed that it gets jammed partway up and then continues to slide back and therefore gets caught in the latches.

I push up on the glass (or push forward on the plastic thing on the glass) as I push the switch and it works, but I can't get to the rear one.

Has anyone noticed, that on the freeway their sunroof not opening or gets jammed?
