Driving this weekend started a nice constant leak of hot -ass- water comming from somplace close to the glove box and dripping to the floor. It only was dripping when the A/C was on and burned my girlfriends foot.hehe.

So Im asssuming its an AC problem, are there drains on the condensor that get glogged or something?

anyone else have this happen or have any ideas?

It sounds like a heater core problem. You might be able to smell the antifreeze, but if you feel around and find a drop of it - it should have a non-water feeling to it. Kind of a slick feeling. I'm not sure what the AC has to do with it, maybe the AC causes the engine to work harder and thus leak more, don't know about that one.

I have had the same problem in my '95 Disco, and you aren't kidding, that water is HOT! Also, I get a puddle of water on the floor mat after I get the car washed (which is once in a blue moon.) Has anyone found solution to these "leaks"

It could just be clogged condenser drains too. There are two rubber nipples way up in the transmission tunnel, one of each side of the tranny. They tend to clog up. Straighten out a clothes hanger, stick it up there and clean them out. If a water starts gushing out, you found your problem.

Axel is definitely right. Climb under the truck and unclog those nipples it is very common - more so if you drive with a pet.

In my experience, the drain tubes are a good place to start. However, if you still have the problem, there is a kit (dealer) which seals the plastic areas just under the wipers. Apparently some Disco's start taking on water (mine), and over time, electrical componenets begin to corrode.

Actually, as the A/C refrigerant flows through the system, it absorbs heat and becomes quite hot before it's compressed, cooled, and dried again. If the water that accumulates on the evaporator (the coil part in the cabin) was indeed leaking into the cabin, it would be very hot, since the refrigerant at that point in the system is superheated. Stopped-up drain hoses would cause the water to leak into the cabin, but also check that all your hose connections are together, since the water may not be getting to the drains.

I also have large amounts of water turning up in the passenger footwell. It is thouroughly soaked down there, but mine isn't hot and it seems to start leaking once the car is off and I have left (I get to the car in the morning and the footwell is SOAKED!). What could this be?

I once test drove a brand-new Oldsmobile Intrigue that had a loose connection on the evaporator drain hose. It was about 95 degrees out that day, and the dealer let me have the car for the day. The longer I drove, the more water that accumulated in the passenger's footwell. By the time I pulled in the dealer's lot later that afternoon, I had 2 inches of water sloshing around in the footwell area (which had a little raised ledge under the front seat footings that helped contain the water to that area LOL). The water was warm, but not terribly hot (of course I didn't feel the actual drops).

...not that any of that makes a bit of difference, just wanted to share my experience LOL

Hey all, undid the drain plugs today....they were so clogged....I took a 60cc syringe and filled it with hot water and soap mix....shot the hell out of the drains and cleaned teh rubber nipples. they were clogged to all hell with leave particles and other junk.

I havent run the a/c yet, but im suspecting it was this...when i pulled the plugs, there was over 3 cups of water than flushed in my face from each hole!
