ok i have heard much hoop-lah about my disco mud flaps. i have removed all of them from my 94, what evil can i now expect?
By Tomorover on Tuesday, June 26, 2001 - 03:43 am: Edit |
Say it ain't so! I think mudflap removal causes you to lose all information on your hard drive, and render it useless for all future access to DiscoWeb! Now you've done it!

Yes and your truck will need thousands of dollars in repair immediately.

Mike, you just voided your warranty and will now go to LR hell.

I think my disco didn't like it's mud flaps. It chewed them up and spit them out on the first trail two years ago......
By Ron on Tuesday, June 26, 2001 - 06:43 am: Edit |
Wow,
And it continued to be driveable for two more years. Incredible, has to be a record.

My front right one fell off and now I can only make turns to the left.
By lonely on Tuesday, June 26, 2001 - 11:10 am: Edit |
i lost one and my wife divorced me
By krikey on Tuesday, June 26, 2001 - 11:47 am: Edit |
I lost all mine and now I drive with a little spritz bottle to get the mud off the doors and bonnet whilst I traverse unpaved terraine.
By Jeff Bieler (Mrbieler) on Tuesday, June 26, 2001 - 11:48 am: Edit |
I can't believe your wife left you for a mud flap...
That is low.

Mike w:
You will need to restore the lost mud-flap magic by affixing at least one DiscoWeb sticker. DiscoWeb stickers will increase traction, prevent leaks, and increase your mileage. And they look cool, too. And yes, this is BLATANT advertising.... But seriously, consider getting a sticker package if you like having DiscoWeb around. With the increased traffic we have been getting, costs of running the site are going up. Up until now, Kyle, Ho and I have been paying the bills out of our own pockets, but we can't keep doing that forever, so every sticker package sold, helps. To those of you who already bought stickers, Thanks for supporting Discoweb!
By garrett on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 - 03:08 am: Edit |
Do the stickers have any affect (or effect) on the ladies?? I live in a college town (Penn State) and I am no longer of college age.
Thanks DiscoWeb!!!!!!!!!
PS: I am going ahead with my order anyhow in hopes that you will reply with positive information.
By Axel Haakonsen (Axel) on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 - 03:22 am: Edit |
In a lab study, the stickers were shown to elevate hormone levels in female lab rats, so I believe that will directly translate to your Penn State situation. Maybe you can conduct a field study? We could then post the results in the Tech section. ;-)
Your stickers are on their way, thanks!

i love my mud flaps!! my girlfriend made me choose between her or the flaps....god i miss her....
By Bud on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 - 04:22 am: Edit |
Garrett - I think Axel is on the right track here. However, I would suggest you stock up on cheese before putting the sitckers on. Nothing worse than a Disco full of hungry female lab rats and no eats.
Bud
By garrett on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 - 04:38 am: Edit |
Oh there are plenty of lab rats around campus, but they don't have hairless tails and sharp nasty teeth. Much better looking than rats and without those ugly tails and annoying chattering sound. Ok.....sometimes the annoying chattering sound, but who cares. I promise a photo to this site with my findings once the bait (DiscoWeb stickers) are installed. Usually a nice chilled bottle of Jager works like the cheese.

ok, i see that i should buy the stickers they are way more cost effective than the mud flaps. i am sending a chk out today.
By Kyle Van Tassel (Kyle) on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 - 05:43 am: Edit |
Of course , a mud flap with the sticker attached to it on the truck ??????????? The mind wobbles.......

Marketing at it's best. ;>)
By Bud on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 - 05:58 am: Edit |
Looks like I jacked around too long. I'd order the stickers today, but we blast off before dawn on Saturday & I doubt the pony express could get 'em here on time. Perhaps when I return.
By Jeff Bieler (Mrbieler) on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 - 06:29 am: Edit |
I ordered my stickers today.
With both rear mud flaps donated this weekend to the John Bull Trail, I can only pray that my marriage will hold together until they arrive...
By Kyle Van Tassel (Kyle) on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 - 06:49 am: Edit |
Well , the magic that the flaps hold is real. Think about it. If you have them on and you want to keep them you have to be very carefull out on the trail. You also have to be pretty damn aware of what is going on back there behind that rear tire. If you focus on keeping the flaps you will save yourself some damage. The truck also just doesnt look the same without them.
Kyle
By willis on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 - 06:55 am: Edit |
..no, it looks better without them...
By Rob Davison (Pokerob) on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 - 07:01 am: Edit |
it erks me to see no mention of the plastic cap. for full magic action you need flaps and cap...
how many times must we go over this?

By Jeff Bieler (Mrbieler) on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 - 07:02 am: Edit |
With the front facia gone, the missing rear flaps balance it out. I like the no flap look too.
My main concern is that until I get the Disco Web stickers, the truck will notice the missing flaps and stop working in protest!
I also need to keep my wife from noticing the missing flaps (she is still fixated on the new desert pin stripping I added!), and all will be well.
By garrett on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 - 07:17 am: Edit |
i have still been tossing around the idea of slapping some nice 'back off' flaps on there or the ones with the nice chrome silhouette of the lady on them. i hear that if you rub the chrome ones they work like a genie. any truth to this? they would really help me out here in central PA where they don't take kindly to foreign rigs and this may help balance things out.
By Kyle Van Tassel (Kyle) on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 - 08:22 am: Edit |
Hmmmm , interesting. And yes Rob , the little cap is key. Thats an easy bastard to lose so it takes great awareness to keep it...
Kyle
By Bud on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 - 08:24 am: Edit |
Well, I think you should go with the chrome silhouette jobs. And, I think it would be great if you could get some photos of you laying down under the rear of the truck while rubbing them. Also, have some one snap a few shots of the folks who don't like foreign rigs beating you senseless after they see you rubbing your mud flaps. ;>)
Uh, oh. Are we getting too technical here?
Bud
By Bud on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 - 08:26 am: Edit |
A wife is magic, too. She can keep you from leaving the Mall. That should help avoid a lot of damage.
You know who.
By SOLO on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 - 08:33 am: Edit |
Don't forget to get the optional flannel shirt and Mack Truck hat. I hear they're supposed to help keep your a** from getting kicked at truck stops.
By Jeff Bieler (Mrbieler) on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 - 09:00 am: Edit |
Oh.... My head hurts.... Too many issues....
I just wish my Discovery started fine without issues every day, never leaked oil, and never gave me fits I couldn't work out. Just like those foreign Japanese cars and trucks...
Wait a moment...
My Discovery DOES all those things. It's my Nissan Frontier that I have the Lemon Lawsuit with. Duh. Sometimes I get so caught up with the "LR sucks" threads that I forget which truck I hate...
Must be a Wednesday thing.
By Axel Haakonsen (Axel) on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 - 09:13 am: Edit |
Try putting a DiscoWeb sticker on the Nissan, too....
(They are in the mail)
By Jon Williams (Jonw) on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 - 09:30 am: Edit |
No, wait! The aluminum DiscoWeb sticker will oxidize the steel Nissan body and you'll have a rust-out in no time. Then your sticker will fall off and could be lost...
By Eric N (Grnrvr) on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 - 09:35 am: Edit |
Be careful though, as these stickers are so lucky that some one may steal it off the side of your truck so that they can have the power of the sitcker.
By gil on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 - 10:38 am: Edit |
...whatever happened to those "fruitcakes from the office" anyway?..
By The Boss on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 - 11:34 am: Edit |
they were taken out back and shot
By Jeff Bieler (Mrbieler) on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 - 01:43 pm: Edit |
Put it on the Nissan? Nah. It might fix it. I'd just rather wait the next few weeks for the law suit to come to an end, get my money, and buy a Classic for myself.
I'll put DiscoWeb stickers on that!
By E Snyder on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 - 02:53 pm: Edit |
I'll sell you a real classic. It leaks and has no mud flaps. You would feel right at home! Of course it also has leaf springs, a removeable top, a crank starter...
I am ashamed that the mudflaps on my Disco are currently intact. I must confess a vain moment once when I actually replaced a lost one.
By Jeff Bieler (Mrbieler) on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 - 03:16 pm: Edit |
A Series would be nice when I lived in San Diego, but I wouldn't want one as a driver here in LA.
You replaced a mud flap? Wow! That's like playing a country music song backwards. Your get your house, job, truck, wife, and dog back as well!
