I HAVE A 95 DISCO ,THE SPEEDO HAS JUST STOPED & THE TACOMETER HAS STOPED BUT NOW & AGAIN COMES BACK FOR A COUPLE OF MINITES THEN GOES AGAIN. ANY IDEAS ON CAUSE OR TO FIX PROBLEM, I WOULD BE GRATEFULL.

ALSO MY PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LOCK DOES NOT LOCK WITH CENTAL LOCKING BUT WILL OPEN , JUST WONDERING IF IT MIGHT BE A RELATED PROBLEM AS IT HAPPENED AT THE SAME TIME OR IS IT A SPERATE PROBLEM.

I think for the speedo and tach. you have an alternator going on you.. I have heard these symptoms in the past..

Check the tach connection on the back of your alternator. It's a little black plug with a grey & white wire and plugs into a spade connector at the bottom of the terminal block. Mine wiggled loose once, so I plugged it back in and voila!

It won't hurt to test the alternator, either. Matter of fact, I did that yesterday afternoon for my truck. If you have AutoZone near you, take it to them and they'll bench test it free. Mine checked-out perfect (so I'm still trying to figure why my battery is draining overnight, as it tested good also) so it saved me $200-$300.

Check the instrument panel fuse. The fuse that protects your instruments also protects the speed sensor. Or you could just have a short somewhere. Anyway, hope it helps...
