With every vehicle I've had with power windows, I've always re-wired to make them work without the key. '92 Suburban was a cinch...the "convenience center" wiring block was truly convenient. With my '94 and '95 Discos...a little trickier. Basically I use a fuse tap to run a wire from one of the always-on lower satellite fuses to a push button switch mounted in an unused panel next to the autopilot (err..cruise control :-). The other wire runs back to a fuse that basically simulates turning the key on. I use a push button so that it can't be left on...just operate the windows while pressing the button. This supplies juice to the window module (as well as to the fan module etc), which handles the major current to the window motors. The Burb is much simpler...a permanent heavy wire (and additional fuse) so I don't even need a push-button...since the windows are a simple circuit instead of being controlled by a module. However, I do like the keep-em-rolling action of the Discos.

Curious...anybody else have any similar/different solutions?

John
