Today my wife called me with the Disco dead at a red light on her way home from work. I was heading in the different direction to pick up our son from school so I just had her call AAA for the flatbed ride home. AAA rocks. Best $65 you could ever spend ;-)

She complained that the car just 'died' at the light and would not start again. It would turn over fine...but no starting. It sounded like a dead fuel pump...but I just did the fuel pump 2K miles ago. Hmm.

So, the disco gets a ride home, and I start checking it out. I checked the spark...it has mad spark. (MSD coil) It also sounds like the fuel pump is doing its normal duty of pumping when then fuel ignition is turned to 'on'. Hmmm. WTF.

Just for shits and giggles I pushed the inertia switch reset and the damn thing started right up. When I first pushed the reset switch I could feel it 'click'. It seems that a bump or something had set it off.

It runs good now. No problem. I guess I am happy it was just the inertia switch...but I am not 100% convinced that the inertia switch is to blame. She just could not have hit any bumps hard enough to set it off. At least I dont think so.

What do you guys think? Anyone else seen freaky inertia switch problems before? I have a bit of credit with british pacific. I am thinking about getting a new inertia switch with it. Anyone know what they cose?

Thanks

Here in Florida, plowing too fast into a deep water puddle will trigger the inertia switch.

I don't know if this helps or not.
