I've heard some good reports about the on & off road performance of the Pirelli Scorpion A/T's. Has anyone run a set that can comment on their durability - do they last (say) as long as BFG A/T's, Cooper A/T's and Michelin LTX A/T's when used under similar conditions. I think I read once where they weren't getting great mileage out of them. Maybe that's why they "perform" so well - soft & sticky maybe? I'm interested in the LT245 75 R16's (in the 120 load range).

I just took a set of 245/70s off my truck. They had about 52k on them and still had about 1/4 tread. HOWEVER..the sidewalls were compromised on three tires (holes causing slow leaks) one blew out. Not the guy who put the tires on, so not sure about usage (rocks, etc) The tires looked good and gripped well though.

Are LR supposed to have AT or all season tires? After reading Consumer Report articles, they seem to suggest that Bridgestone Dueler and BFG Long Trail were good tires at a good price. I have Michelin 4x4 XPC on both my recently purchased LR's and one tire got messed up on sidewalls. I know I won't be getting Michelins!

LR's can run any type of tire that you want. You can go normal street tires, all terrains, muds etc. The only thing limiting you is your driving style/needs, how much lift and sheet metal cutting you want to do and the big one budget.
