I have a 96 Disco SE7 and having a cruise control problem. The cruise light on the dash doesn't come on at all. Checked fuse and it looks good. Any suggestions on where to start to diag this problem.

Does the cruise control work, as in holding road speed when you set it? If so, then unless you wanna pay $22.99 for a new switch, be glad it works

Assuming that your cruise control is working correctly, then the bulb inside the switch is burned out. It just happened to me (98 Disco). There is a small light bulb inside the switch that can be replaced. You don't have to replace the entire switch. Mine was under warranty, so I had them do it. I is a simple task and the cost is low (maybe $2.00).
Thanks,

Ours was not going on, it turned out that the contacts on the bulb in the switch were dirty, I cleaned them off and it worked fine.

From what I have heard, this problem usually turns out to be an air leak in the vacuum hose controlling the cruise control. I'd suggest that you visually inspect the hoses and look for leaks. They are usually around the connections. Also, I am assuming that you have checked all of the fuses, etc.
There was a lot of discussion on this subject on the old DiscoWeb. I'm not sure if those old messages were moved over or not.
Lots of Luck!
