I have been driving the past week with a small amount of rubbing sound/sqeeling that is intermittent from the rear of teh vehicle. I narrowed it down last night to the rear drivers side wheel, and after a 2 hour highway drive it is constant. I have never heard this sond, but it sounds bad.(hehe)
It sounds only when the wheel is moving.
any ideas? when its finished raiaing cats and dogs, ill go pull the wheel....but for now im gathering preliminary ideas...
thanks....

Can you just pack in more grease or do you have to replace the whole bearing?

Ok, I took the wheel off and your all correct, wheel bearing.
So next is, can I do this myself, or is it a big job...also is anything else effected with the bearing going bad..like my shafts worn or diff effected somehow?

Inner race of the inner bearing is probably stuck on there. You will have to coerse it off of there to replace. Some heat will do it sometimes. If that wont do it then cut the inner race with a cut off tool on an angle . Then break it off the rest of the way. There will be some clean up needed before the new one can be installed. You will need one inner seal from Land Rover and two "set-37" bearing sets from NAPA.

Look in the 'tech' section under 'FAQ' too.
