I,ve got the console out and the transfer case plate off that was riveted on, and I can see the top of the transmission. My Haynes manual does not even mention the Low Range lockout soleniod. Where is it located on the transfer case??

Its at the back of the T case right on top. It has three bolts holding it in..

I thought that was the center diff. lock. When I move the lever left and right it moves this piece with three bolts. Is this the center diff.lock and the high/low? The linkage for forward and backward movement of the selector gear do not go to this.

I'll wait. The wife won't drive it all torn apart and she can see the ground. I hope it's not greasy under there like mine is.

ok , its at the rear of the T case. I was wrong , its four bolts , not the one with three. oops. It has wires coming out of it and its pretty easy to spot. and , yes , it was greasy...

Thanks for checking. I'll go take it out and clean it up. Maybe I can get it to work without buying a new one. Thanks again Kyle
