Just wondering if it's an easy task to mount a pair of Hella 4000's to a stock LR brush bar.

Any tips on the physical mounting? Do they just bolt right on? Or do I need some adapter kit?

How about the electrical? Any recommendation?

Maybe (hopeful) someone has a website with photos of how to do this.

The only recomendation I woudl have, is buy he wireing kit that is avalible for the hella 4k's...it makes mounting and wireing much easire....also refer under "tech" and at teh bottom and the left wireing diagram...this will help youwire them up to your factory harness, or switch, whatever your pleasure is.....

basicaly...wire the electrical stuff...bolt on, adjust and your in bussiness.... and good choice, the 4k's kick butt

check out eBay for some sweet deals on these lights. they sell for about $325 in AB, but you can get a new set (minus harness) for about $160 for the pair. since I am not going to be getting my 1000's that I paid for from SCOTT NICOLS OF HARRISBURGH, PA I am opting for the 4000's on eBay.

If you have the directions for the lights, it's pretty easy. If you need directions, there are various sources online (wiring diagrams, etc.) It really is pretty easy. No special mojo needed.

Hey Garrett, don't give up on Scott Nicols - pay him a visit and make things right. Is there any DiscoWeb punishment available for not making good on your posted promises? :) (thinking Tom Brindy....)

There are a few good examples of what could be done to my pal Scotty on some old vids I had seen years ago......'Faces of Death'. Those may be a little harse and I am not to sure on using the 2' rubber hose deal that were previously mentioned. And computer viruses are fun, but I would not be able to see his face when everyone in his address book is sent naked picures of his boyfriend Turner Brown. But for now leaving a message a day on his cell phone and repeated emails will suffice. But as time goes on the emails will become more 'interesting' and phone calls more annoying.

OK, thanks for the wiring info... Yeah, I saw those on eBay which prompted this forum message question (g)

Still need a quick answer on the physical mounting -- do the Hella 4K's just "bolt-on" to the LR Brush Bar, or do I need to drill or buy a mounting kit?

They just bolt on.

Ron

Garrent, that guy is good for it. We got our stuff Just bug the heck out of him. Use his address and find his home phone number that will make him listen.

fyi. that person that sells them on there is always posting them, so don't think that he will not be posting more the next day if you don't want to bid more than $170. if you look at the past ones his 'reserve' is around $160 I think. he has a 'buy now' price of $195 which you could do if you want to pay a little more and get them right away. pretty sure they bolt on if you have the standard issue brush bar. i rewelded mine as the flat bar that the lights mount onto was not as stable as it use to be. just a precaution.

Ron, seems like that guy is not good for it - sounds like he sold what Garrett paid for to another guy. Also, "good for it" should not include excess legwork on your part after you've already paid your money. This kind of thing reaks of a total lack of character and honesty - that really bothers me. Of course, he may have been hit by a bus, and that's why he won't reply. If so, then I'll feel badly badmouthing him so much :) My two cents - sorry for the rant.

Ron~

I have been bugging him pretty good. Left about 8-10 messages so far on his cell phone and about double that with emails. I will call again today. I know he was busy and all, since he is on the road with sales and stuff. Just way out of line to have me wait close to 3 months. And on top of that I found out that he sold both sets of lights. Therefore he sold the one pair of 1000's that I paid for. So I guess I should not be expected my lights. At the least I would like my $ back. Otherwise I will just keep sending him freaky emails. Thanks though.

BG and Garrent, poor choice of words on my part. I meant more of he has them so get them or get your money back. I am not defending him at all just saying that he did not fall off the face of the planet. I would definately continue to to bust his b***s until he gave me what I wanted.

Ron

Keep good rover karma
