I have a metallic squeaking noise coming from the rear of the
truck--sounds like a squeaky fan belt. Its pretty quiet, but its
there. I can hear it while driving. It goes away with application of
the brakes. Here is what I have done so far to try to get rid of it.

Disassembled hubs and thoroughly cleaned everything
Replaced wheel bearings and oil seals (needed doing anyway)
Replaced brake pads
Cleaned all dirt etc. from ABS sensor exciter rings
Replaced ABS sensor bushings, cleaned sensors and lubed with the
appropirate WABCO grease

No change in noise :(

I did notice that one of the passenger side caliper pistons wasn't
pushing the brake pad all the way against the rotor - the pad wobbled
a little bit--maybe 1mm of play. When I replaced the pads, that
piston did not attempt to push out like the rest. I soaked it with
Liquid Wrench and put it back together.

No change in noise :( :(

Drives and brakes fine. No pulling, no squeaky brakes, etc.

Could this be causing the noise? Do I have a problem with that
caliper? If so, are there rebuild kits available or would I be better
off just replacing it? Or maybe having it rebuilt locally? (I can
stand to be without my truck for a day or so, but the shop will have
to be in bike riding range.)

BTW, I can't replicate the noise by spinning the hub with the axle
shaft removed, or with everything bolted up and the vehicle on 4
jackstands.

Any insights appreciated. Thanks.

Alex
