Was driving home in the RR and guess what. Pedal went strait to the floor, being a series owner I though no biggy and pumping like crazy nothing happens. Go right through a red light (note to self adjust E brake better) but emerge unscathed. Pull off to the side stopping the last 1mph against a tree. Clamp off rear, no help, clamp off fronts no help. Diagnosis, shot M/C. Only a mile from home so I put it in low and drive back using first gear as the brake (works well, drove the series like this for a few weeks).
Moral of the story. Seals in brake system is required maintainance in the owners manual. I know its expensive but it is worth it. It was even on my to do list for the RR, I guess I should have gotton to it sooner. Why does this crap always happen to me? This is our second catastrophic brake failure this year. No warning signs, it just died. Hopefully the 100 for the rebuild kit will solve the problem. Just a warning. Probably not an issue yet but soon.
Cheers
Ron
PS Brake fluid looked ok and was definately castrol so no problems there, just age I guess.
