Changed the centrifugal govenor in the auto tansmission? If so, where is it located? Hard job or simple? trans in Disco or does it have to come out?
Thanks

Cleaning/replacing the gov is simple but the transfer case will need removing first. Remove the back casting from the ZF,you will need to add a support as the gearbox mount is attached to this casing, remove 9x m8 bolts, be careful not to damage the gasket. Remove the coupling shaft and then carefully slide the governor housing off the main shaft. You will need a Torx27 to remove the Gov from the housing (I would suggest marking the orientation of the Gov as it is possible to re-fit it the wrong way round). replace/Clean the Gov plungers with a solvent and re-assemble.

The man is right on it. I would just like to add that you want to test the plungers for freedom of movement. They have to move unhindered in the bore , if there is the slightest hang up you will be right back to where you started after putting i back together. Keep in mind that once the trans heats up all those bores get a little smaller and things get tighter in general.
