ok igot my water pump off and i did not take the fan off first well now i cant get the fan off the old water pump any help would be appreciated

Have you tried putting the old water pump back on the engine and removing the fan in situ?

Here's the way to do it. Get a strap wrench, hold the pulley with it and turn the big nut at the same time. RH THREAD FOR US VEHICLES. I was mislead and had a hell of a time. As viewed from the front of the engine, it's a right-hand thread!!!
