Hi guys. My 97 Disco front sunroof (I have only one) rattles over bumps when it is open. Is this normal? This has been so since I bought it. How do you fix this? Thanks.

My front one on my 97 does the same thing, but I haven't taken the time to screw with it yet. If anyone has a sure fire cure, I'd love to hear it.

If I remember correctly, there was an earlier discussion thread on this issue. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that there was a Land Rover service bulletin on this and if you take it to a dealer they will fix it. I believe it has something to do with the bushing in the slide rail for the roof. I too have the same problem with both of my roofs. I just want to see if I can fix it myself.

I forgot to mention, mine is also a 97. If I get time to work on it, I will post the fix here.

mine did the shake and rattle also,
get yourself a torx wrench set and tighten the
screws that hold the sunroof to the rail.
I let mine go and lo and behold the screw backed out and the black grommet flew off the top. - 20.00 $ for a new one. (they were 65$, nice price drop)

In my experience, the only way to fix the rattling sunroofs is to duct tape the f-ing things closed. When I still had my warranty, the dealer installed the rail kit and tightened everything no less than 6 times. It always worked for a while, but then went back to rattling. Lost cause.
OTOH if someone does figure out a way to permanently fix this, I would love to hear about it.
