I have read the instructions in the FAQ section and tried it and I still cannot get my remote to work. I can't get the horn to sound after I complete steps 3 through 9 in 8 seconds. My remote would not work and I would bang it on something and it would work and then one day it just stopped. It is a 95

Bad news, this requires the dealer. They might have to reprogram your remote, or the remote might be destroyed. Also, have you accidently run your remote through the washer (left in your pocket of your pants)? I did this once, and I took it to the dealer. They cleaned it up free of charge.

This is the time to love your dealer or hate your dealer :):(

I got the horn to sound and the LED to light up, but the remote will not program. The light on the remote goes on but I am still going to try new batteries and if that doesn't work I'll be checking eBay for a new one.

You need to hold the button on the remote down for a while. You need to hold it for probably 5-10 seconds after the light goes off on the remote. If thats not the problem then your remote might be crapped out.

If it is the Alpine alarm system that came with many rovers, take out the two screws in the back and see if the chip came loose from the board. From the slapping of the remote it causes the chip to come out of the socket on the board.
