Just sharing. I am bitter because I can't seem to find any for sale and I have been trying for a month.

There are plenty of portal axles for sale but not at the prices you are willing to pay.

Untrue,

I need Volvo 303 axles not Mog axles. Mog axles are a dime a dozen (well 3k a pair).

Buy an old Beat up Uni Mog. There is a guy in my town that imports Uni's and Pinzuager's both of which have portal axles. Who knows he may have some laying around. I live in Fayetteville Arkansas. If you would like the number just let me know. That would be a hell of a converson. but pretty cool if it worked.

Ok I lied Mog axles are only 2500 a pair, but I want 303 axles and for the life of me and all my resources I cannot find a set. Short of buying a 303 and taking it apart I have found nothing.

Hey Mike,

Can I get his number? I am looking for Volvo 303 axles as the difs are in the same spot a LRs and they spin the right way (mogs spin backwards). They are made by salisbury and look pretty much like a Salisbury from a 110 or D60/D70 they come stock with Vacuum lockers and are basically indestructable. Pinzys have an IFS system which would not work. I need a 303.

yea, I will try to find it for you. I dont think it is listed. But then again I dont really know the name of the guy. However, I drive by the place on my way to work. And there is a number on one of the mogs parked out in front. I will look Tuesday morning for you.

Hello,
I'm from Sweden, homecountry of the Volvo 303 with the desirable portal axels. Try put an ad on this address www.swedenoffroad.com, click on köp&sälj link to the left and then the orange link on the page that comes up. It's mostly in Swedish, but people will understand an ad posted in English.
Complete 303's seem to start from $2500, but maybe you are lucky and can find someone selling only the axles. Transport from Sweden to whereever you are is a different issue I guess.

Best of luck,
T

Ps. I drove these 303 4x4 and 6x6 during military service and they are very good indeed in tough terrain. Less impressive on road though...

Thanks. I put up an ad. I put up a couple other ads but no luck yet.

Robert,
I appreciate the help but 10k an axle is a bit too much for me. I was thinking about making something but the 303s seem like an ideal solution.

Cheers
Ron

There is a guy that lives near Richmond, VA I think his name is Vince that imports Pinz and Mogs and such.. I think that I have a link to his web site on an email at home. I'll look when I get home from work today (7hrs or so) and post it for you if I can find it. I believe that he goes overseas quite a bit looking for things. Hey maybe able to get you what you want.

Eric,
Thanks, Vince is looking for me already, he has checked breakers in the UK, Holland, Sweeden, and is looking in south eastern europe now. He has agreed to import them if I find a set or if he finds a set. He is a nice guy.

Ron

PS yes he is in "the noke"
