I have long since ditched the stock stereo and would like to wire up my hellas to the console, and being the anal-retentive pimp disco driver that I am, I was wondering if anyone knows where to get more of the fog light buttons, like the one for the anti-tailgater lights?

Thanks in advance,

-josh (pimp poser, as in I am posing as a pimp, not actually a poser, well maybe a little.)

Several ideas.

One buy a set of switches out of a 95 RR or DI and switch out the ashtray for them. Buy individual switches and put them where the blanks are. Two buy heated seat switches and the panel that goes with them. Between the two solutions you should be about 1/3 of the way to 16 switches for the hydraulics :)

Very funny.

I know what to buy, I need to know where to buy them from. I am looking specifically for the switch for the rear fog/brake lights. It has the little headlight icon and a light that comes on when current is going through the switch.

-josh, thinking hard about the capability of hydraulics to jump me over an obstacle...

Dealer has it for like 30. or salvage yard or something.

Ron

PS I was thinking the same thing. If they can get the front of a 64 impala 6ft off the ground think of what that can do for a disco.

Hell yeah, and I could lower the passenger side so my wife (6 mos. pregnant) could get in without the disparaging remarks about my truck.

Josh,

try www.roverconnection.com for the switches

As for the wife, we had to use a milk crate the last few weeks. The first days home from the hospital are fun getting her in and out of the truck too!

Good idea, I have been thinking of how to weld a removable step that would hook onto my slider. I thought it could be useful later on for myself, but in reality, I'll never use it.

I wish the disco came with those steps they have on airplanes. The ones that are covered and you kick your foot into and when you pull it out, the cover snaps back into place. a couple of those on each door and the rear quarter panels would be nice.

Josh look at the slider step that RTE has, something along those lines.

I knew a guy who made a rope and metal dowl ladder for his girlfriend to get in his monster truck like thing. It was tied to the seat supports and once she got in she just reached down and pulled it in and it sat on the floor next to the door, ready for deployment.

As for switches, RoverConnection would probably be your best bet.

Also, my grandma uses a 12pack of soda to step into everyone's SUV's.

Hey, you can't drink a milk carton, just carry a 12 pack around, think of it as emergency rashions also.

yeah, but the cans will crush after you drink the reebs (dependent upon the size of your grandmother) :) My wife wasn't too happy about the extra 3", but she loves the driving position. It's also easy to work the carseat into the rear seat at that level.

Congrats, my wife and I have been talking about getting one of those pink fuzzy things, we just can't decide on what year.

Slow Rider,
I looked at the RT thing, but it won't work on my sliders, mine don't have a space in them. I do have two holes on each side that could accomdate something, but I am going to go steal a crate tonight.

BilGill,
Belated congrats, I am pretty excited and apprehensive. I am hoping my enthusiasm will offset my lack of knowledge.

Blue Gill...you must stop showing pic's of that terribly clean garage again!!! I suppose that little one plays on that antiseptic floor too??

that's where we eat dinner :)

actually, my Type A, anal retentive persona forces me to sweep/hose out the entire garage every week or so. Whenever I jack up the truck and play underneath, chunks of mud get everywhere and we track it in the house...I have silt from as far north as Flagstaff in my living room carpet...
