Just wanted to borrow some of the expertise on this form regarding a couple of things ...

- I bought a used 95 Disco (LR certified used vehicle) and the warranty is ending next
month. I checked the maintenance and warranty work done on the vehicle and everything that
goes wrong with the Series I has basically been fixed or replaced including seals and the
spots where rust occasionally pops up and some extra stuff like exhaust valves and power
steering pump. It was the poster child of what went wrong with '95. The truck has 70K on it and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it, is there anything I should specifically check before the warranty runs out that I wouldn't be aware of with regular maintenance or driving?

- Now that the warranty is ending ... the fun begins. I am STARTING with the install
of a RTE 2" lift. I have looked through the archives and was wondering if there is anybody
out there that has installed the springs, shocks and cones (long term) and not had to replace either the rear trailing links or roto flex drive shaft. From what I have read in the archives,
alot of people experience problems with vibrations, etc. and end up changing the rear resolving the problem. If it's got to be done ... might as well do it the first time.

Thanks,
Murray

Murray, slide under the front of your Disco and check for leaks. Check the swivel ball housings, steering box, oil pan, etc. Go over everything--door locks, windows, air con, heat, fans etc--and bring it to their attention before the warranty expires. Also, put it in writing so if they fail to address a problem, you have evidence that it occured before the expiry date. And before your warranty expires, you better start delivering beer and gifts to your favorite mechanic :)

Thanks - forgot about all the little things that add up, I was thinking of all the big ticket items. As for the local mechanic, he is really good and has made the Christmas card list :)
