can anyone tell me if i need to replace my rotors when i replace my pads. i hate to do either but, i am going insane from the squeaking noise from the rear brakes. i bought the car used so i don't know how long it has been sincethe pads wereoriginally replaced. atleast 15k since i owned it. 97 disco. also, any diagrams other than al haigs?

If the discs are within limits as to thickness, and if they are not badly scored, you will not need changing your discs.
Rear pads are said to last 60-70.000km.
Changing: Taking off your wheel, you'll see what's needed for changing:
Pull the pins on top of pads and remove those metal-thingy.
Pull the pads (often needs working with a big screwdriver from below).
Remove cap from fluid reservoir.
Push back pistons.
Copper grease on back and side of new pads
Slide in.
New antirattle springs/pin in place.
