Can you put a winch on a Disco II with its standard LR wrap-around brush bar? The land rover shop suggests that you need the A-bar instead, but I kinda like the wrap-around bar's look and functionality.

The Land Rover shop is correct. A standard bumper/brush bar is not strong enough to mount a winch on. You need either the LR winch bar, or one of the aftermarket winch bumpers, such as ARB, Safari Gard, TJM etc.

Simple answer is no. However, the TREK vehicles had the LR winch specific A-Bar and tray with the wrap around brush bar parts welded on. So it is possible.....

You'll just need some custom work done.

LR makes the winch tray with a wrap around brush bar made for it. It's a complete kit, albeit expensive. You would do better if you cut your existing bar and welded some mounts to install in the winch tray.

The winch tray is the mount LR sells for installing a winch on your Disco. Then you can specify either an A-Frame bar or a full wrap around bar for it. This then bolts onto the tray. It's in all the brochures under winch kit. A friend has the full brush bar on his disco with the winch tray.

Michel, is this a new addition to the accessories line up? As of earlier this year, the full brush/winch bar was not a manufactured public part from LRNA.

I dont think the full guard is here in the us. The ones that were here were off of the XDs that came with them and got taken off. I have one thats on PKs truck in CA...

Chris, I haven't specificaly checked for the DII, I assume if it's available for the DI then it would be for the DII. I'll see if it's a canadian thing only.
