Try this - http://www.mansfield-motors.com/ - you might have to wait a little longer - but good prices.

Cheap is relative.

You can get used rings (dirty, but good and with new bolts and lock nuts) for $30US from

www.roveraccessories.com

New, they are in the $50 range.

I think they are 14 British Pounds at the link above - the exchange rate for US dollars is about 1.4 I think - that would make the approximately $20 US.

Ok,

Well then if you are willing to send $10 calling the UK you might be able to find a deal but with shipping I doubt you would make out. I would just get them from rover accessories.

Hey thanks guys. I like the price on the UK ones (thanks Marc) but I think Ron is right, with shipping it would work out to about the same but it would take longer.

Now, where on roveraccessories site can I find these? I don't see them anywhere.

Call and ask Charles. I don't think they list them. He does check his email too.

It's a D-shaped ring that fits the stock frame tie down/tow points.

Steve, the d-ring shackle you saw at 4x4 connection is not the same as a JATE ring.

A JATE ring actually attaches through the frame rail (there are points front and rear).

Here is a pic of a front JATE ring:

This jate ring is used as a winching anchor?

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By Steve Clarke (Stevec) on Sunday, July 15, 2001 - 07:11 pm: Edit

Is this strong enough to be used as a winch point?
The other flat ones bolted to the fuel tank mounts shear off and break the bolts! The shipping hook that pokes through the front spoiler just tore off first pull with a snatch strap!... help?

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By Ron on Monday, July 16, 2001 - 03:12 am: Edit

Yes Steve you can use the Jate ring as a winch point or for a strap. Ideally you should get two and connect them with a tree strap a a bridle and use that to pull from.
