I have been searching throught the forums and have read that the fuel filter is in the pump itself. I have a 1997. Is it in the pump? Is it hard to get to and can anyone tell me its location and maybe some tips? Thanks! It is time for the 60K service and I had the dealer fax the service list to me. The filter is one of the items. Secondly I am considering going with synthetic in the transmission/transfer/diffs. I have read on here that the transmission on the disco's does not like synthetic. I find this hard to beleive. Is this true? Do you people feel like it is worth the money difference over dino-fluid? Thanks in advance!!

Synthetic in ZF box - I still find it hard to believe also - but my wallet and busted knuckles know otherwise (new trans - 54K with Amsoil). Posts on MB and BMW boards echo similar experiences
