Is there anyway to reprogram the computer on a 96 and up disco to make more power? Say tweak the mixture to allow for a free flow exhaust and KN airfilter?

Testbook will read and reset codes. To do what you want, though, would be a chip-change.

Actually, I suppose it's possible that the computer can adjust a bit to handle the changes naturally, but I don't KNOW that, and it could very well be that there isn't anyway that would know that... in which case, it would have to be a chip-change.

Early ECUs (95 and earlier) will adapt and give you more or less hp based on intake and exhaust and fuel.

For example on an 87 or 88 RR if you cut out the three cats and replace with a standard 2 cat system you get 15more (10%) hp (this is what the Euro trucks had). They also allow for a bit of timing tune. You can run them advanced 9degrees (or maybe even 12) on 93 or bump them back and run on 87 with a bit less power. This applies to all RRCs and discos through 95.

New ones I am not sure but if there is an answer maybe it is in testbook.
