I attempted to do the wheel bearings last night, though I found the outerbearing in 100 peices, and found the inner half way in the grave as well. I guess in driving, a bearing was lodged gaianst the stub axle, and now the new rotor and bearing set up will not slide back on (due to large bearing shaped pit in the stub axle)

yes it was a bitch to get the old race's off, do you all think i need to replace the stub axle then? Or the other alternative, is a sledge hammer, but im worried it will ruin the new race's

anyone got ideas or one they wanna part with? It the rear of a d1

I mentioned that happening before in the last thread about this. You will have to dress the stub up and make sure its nice and smooth. If there is a depression get it built back up again and then bring it back to the correct size. If you have a welder available or someone that can do it for you it might be easier and faster then getting a new one.
