Bill, try spraying the inside of the wheel with silicon spray crap. Mud just slides off. makes cleaning brake dust easier too. Find one thats clearcoat/wheel safe.

Amazingly enough - my wife drove the truck like this for about 1 1/2 weeks because I was too lazy to pull a wheel off!

Embedded in that mud were three rocks - all about the size of (flattened) golfballs - I can't believe they stayed in there that long

The key is to get the mud spread evenly to keep the wheel in balance.
