I know this is a recurring topic but I have to ask. Are there brake pads i can buy at my local Pep Boys that are equal to or superior to Geniune LR Brake pads.
Thanks

If you need a set of pads, either genuine or high performance let me know. I have both in stock.
Thanks

nathan, I may be due for front and rear pads. Does anyone know if the back pads necessarily should be replaced when the front's are done or is it simply easier to just do them at the same time to save face?...Also, what pads are best other than genuine LR?

do them all at the same time. I got my pads at british pacific. Made by Ferodo, OEM supplier to LR. It's just less expensive when it comes in a Ferodo box not a LR box. There's a good write up on expeditionexchange.com
Have fun!

I have to say that I bought Minitex pads 30,000 miles ago, and they are FABULOUS. Not only were they cheaper than stock, they DON'T squeal, and have only lost about 40% in the past 30k! Now, this is with LOTS of towing, LOTS of off-roading, and LOTS of city driving. I have really given my pads a workout, and they just don't seem to wear out. Now the stock pads are only expected to last between 9,000 and 30,000 miles.

My two cents (again) - Beck Arnley pads from Brakeco.com - about $22.00 per axle delivered! Excellent soft organic pads - no squeal and great performance on several trucks now.....
