Has anyone run this size? Personally I like the extra inch of width for stability on-road and you only loose about 1/4 inch in total lift compared to the 245/75 in the same tire. Will this stuff under the fender OK?

What kind of tire are you looking at that comes in 255/75/16 size? The only 255's I've seen are in 60 or 65 heights...After I get my new OME springs and shocks on (c'mon UPS, hurry it up already!), I'm installing new tires. First attempt will be 265/75/16 (about 31.25" tall), and if those don't fit, I'll have to settle on 245/75/16. Of course, I'll let you all know how it turns out...

Bluegill,
You should have no problems with the 265/75/16. I put OME HD springs on with those tires and they're great. If you're going to be off-road you will have to do minor trimming in the rear and one more thing, the front tires will rub when making a full turn with the wheel, so you may want to adjust your bump-stops. Other than those two minor adjustments, I have had no problems.

I am looking at the Michelin p255/70/16. The tire dealer states they will fit fine. Any one have any other info??

Thanks,

Rich

Really? Great news - I assumed I'd have to trim or at least fold back the rear, but that's no biggie - I've already rubbed all the paint off the passenger rear with present 245/70's. I also assumed that the front would rub on tight turns - I lived with that on my jeep for 3 years. I wonder if 1.25" wheel spacers would cure BOTH steering and rear fender problems?...

Also, what brand tires are you running?
