How loud is loud? The obvious first thing to check would be the condition of the pads. A loud sqeak is usually (but not always) a sign that ite is time to replace the pads.
If that's not it, search the archives. There have been a few discussions on how to silence noisy brakes.

I did the following the other day on my RR:

Removed pads
Made shims out of Coca-cola can
Replaced pads with home-made shims between back of pad and caliper pistons
Noise went away

I did this for the rear pads only, I will try the front ones this weekend.

Was this a good idea?

I just did the pads as well, do you use silcone or anyting on the back of em? or just put em in dry?

When I first installed the new pads I used a spray (blue stuff, can't remember the name right now). It worked for a few days but then the blue stuff wore off and started squeeking again. There is still some blue stuff on the pads so I pressed the shims on top of the blue stuff (kept the shims in place).

I had mine squeaking after the dealer did them and I took them apart and it looked like the dealer only used half a shim in the back so it was causing the squeak. I took some anti-squeak gunk and put it on and the sqeaks went away. I plan on getting new shims though and scraping the blue gunk off and putting new shims on as when I went to W. VA this past weekend the mountian roads heated up my brakes so bad that they started to squeak again. Not squeaking now but that is just due to they aren't getting used that much so they aren't getting that hot. I think that the shims hold up better under heat then the gunk.
