On my Disco'97 this light is on most of the time.

I don't have the electrics manual. So any info on where to look and what to look for would be greatly appreciated.

I was told when I bought my truck that the light can mean, among other things, that the pads are getting too low. Just another thing to check...

97 Disco's do not have any electric pad wear sensors (RR's do have them) - the only wear sensor you've got is to check them or wait for the inevitable metal-to-metal sound!

Now I guess if they got so thin that the pistons pushed out too far, that might trigger a low fluid or pressure warning, but I wouldn't suggest waiting that long

Actually, if your break light comes on in the Disco, you either have a break in the line system, low fluid levels, or the pads are so low that they are creating a low fluid level. You are usually eating into the rotors by the time this happens. Of course, it could just be an electrical glitch if everything else works fine and checks out.

An electrical glitch!!! That is the last thing I would expect on a Land Rover, nothing but quality electronics in those things.

I think it's a fluid level. Visually it's somewhat near the low mark, and the light usually goes on on an incline.

Will add fluid today and see what happens.

Here's a crazy question. I notice my light comes on on a decline, but the fluid level actually seems a little high in my truck. Could this be relavent? Should I get rid of some of it?
