I pulled back the rubber rubber floormats on my 97 Disco and found the carpet and floorboards soaking wet. The passenger side was significantly wetter than the drivers side. I havn't pulled the carpet up yet to see if it has started rusting.

Any idea what caused the dampness on the floorboards? Mt heater doesn't seem to be leaking and I can't trace any dampness further up on the dash. Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem while driving to Florida last summer.
Crawl under the passenger side and look up on the floorboard around where the front of the trany is. There is a thin walled flexable tube about 1 inch across and about 2 inches long. That is the drain tube for the A/C. The tube comes to a point so the dirt can't get in and clog it up. Just clean it out with your finger and let your carpet air out.

Thanks for the picture. I my passenger side nipple was clogged, but the drivers side was clear. This must have just happened as the water under the carpets was clear without mildew and there was very little rust on the floorboards. I used half a roll of Bounty soaking up water and it still is wet. Thanks for everyone's help.

How did you unclog the tube? Does it come off or did you stick something in there to loosen any clogs? I found the same problem this morning, decided to check after reading these posts (imagine my surprise!). Wasn't real real bad, very little moisture had soaked through the floormats to the carpet underneath, but I still want to take on this tube.

Just pull the grommets that are on the end of the condensate drain tubes out - they pop in and out easily - don't try to poke something up inside there because then you risk puncturing the drain tube
