When changing the fuel filter on my 97 disco do you have to fill the filter with gas or anything or will the fuell pump safely take out the air in the system? Thanks!

not fuel but with the oil you are using.. im not sure if you fill it to the bring or not but you do put oil in the filter before you put it on..

oil? you thinking of the oil filter?

i dont know about the fuel filter but i'm sure you dont put oil in it,, i dont see filling it with fuel causing problems.. just the same i dont think you have too. it's not like oil where you could not lubricate something.


if it were me i would not fill it with anything.

if it is anything like changing a fuel filter on a porsche, audi, volkswagen, merecedes or bmw (i was a service advisor for these brands for 7 years)- no do not prefill with fuel. there might be some cranking at first to fill the filter - but that should be it.
