Has anyone had problems with the blower motor when set on high (4) stopping for about 2 seconds aand then starting again? It just does it on high and only once in a while? Is there a fix or is it getting ready to die!

damn, that just happened to me for the first time tonight.

air on , setting at #4 it stopped for 2-3 seconds then came on again...

so it's shutting down is a safety feature?
or it's it having a meltdonw/ needs replacing soon?

Mine does it a few times each day. It appears to me that the switch is not keeping contact within the 4th position. If I push the switch to the passenger side it will come on again immediately. If I jiggle the switch it will go on and off. However, when set on speeds 1-3, I never have a problem. The next time that yours stops, reach over and push the switch to the passenger side and see if it comes back on immediately.

Realize, your cup holder is just in front. If you've had a beverage or two slosh occasionally, things can be getting gummy inside of there.

Just a thought....

My 95 does the same thing. Only on position 4. I keep it on 3 and all of the vents either closed or pointed at me.

Same here w/my 95. I just jiggle things. It's cheaper than new switches....

my 95 also, the manual says it does that when it overheats, but my temp is always fine. I'll try pushing on the switch.

They all do it. MIne does it as well. Just jiggle it!!!!

Be happy it works at all. I was in a Ford Excursion the other day and the A/C in those Fords are horrible and they are always in need of repair.

Yes! My Australian '97 diesel does it too.

I normally forget about setting 4, use setting 3 with the "recirc" button pressed. It's virtually as powerful as number 4.

It does it on heat or on cool.

I'm glad everyone else has the problem too! Wonder how I can fix it????

My 95 does the same thing. Your right I just move it to pos 3 then back to 4 and it works fine for a couple more months.
