Anyone know where to get a trim pannel tool that would work on the rear door pannel of a 96 Disco?

Metal putty knife wrapped in duct tape works OK. You'll still break some of the plastic fasteners, no matter how careful you are. If you ask nicely, you might be able to get a bunch from the dealer for free, otherwise take one to an auto parts store or a hardware store and match them up. Don't BUY them from a dealer. Rip-off.

BTW, I still have the rear door trim panel from my 98 for sale (beige).

Or try a metal ruler with duct tape on the edges. This flexes better than the putty knife.

Thanks. I need to get it off to remove my spare mount (massive rust cleanup needed).

I am also considering using it as a template to put together a replacement pannel that will allow me to mount light items (fire extinguisher, first aid kit, etc) and an upgraded sub box on the inside of the door without damaging the stock pannel. If I give that a shot, I'll get some pictures and do a write up in case anyone else is interrested.
