Whenever I try to lock or unlock my doors my front passenger door will not cooperate. I can hear the mechanism move but it will not actually lock the door. In the pass when I have worked on automatic door lockers that, sometimes, there is a connector that breaks or get disconnected. I am assuming this is the case for my Disco97SE7. My question is how do I remove the front passenger door panel? Is there and easier way to repair this without taking off the door panel?

your actuator may need adjustment. Take your door panel off and pull back the plastic cover from the door. The actuator can be slid to the left or right a few millimeters. Loosen the 4 screws and try sliding the actuator back in the direction away from the door latch mechanism. This will take up some of the "slack" in the locking mechanism so the actuator can do its job. Also while your in there lube everything up real good

Go to any auto parts house and buy a door trim panel remover - they're only a few bucks. It's a y-shaped fork that you center on each of the posts that lock the panel on and pry them up. I just bought one and did our doors last week - much less damage than the old screwdriver technique. Unfortunately I couldn't get the actuator adjusted to where it will function. Did suceed in adjusting the inside and outside manual handles though! May try again with the lube. Good luck.
