I really like how Terry has his truck set up. Nice rig:

That's where I hope to see mine within the next couple years. Right now it's pretty much a stock 96' that's not even worthy of the photogallery.
(maybe that will change - next week I'm off to BC for a month of travelling. I'm going to drive the Hurley road from Lillooet to Pemberton and then an excursion up Black Tusk in Whistler. That should get me in the gallery, no?)

nothin wrong with stock - send in pictures of whatever to get in the gallery.

It's not the truck. It's what you DO with the truck that's worth the photos.

True!
Anyhow...do not want to be an ass...but I have learnt the hard way that a winch and lockers ARE way more ESSENTIAL than a nice flexy suspension, great tires, a rack, a bar, and bla bla bla...
That is why I got an ARB to install, and will be getting a winch in 2 weeks hopefully.
Ciao

exactly - complete stocker scramblin up a rock wall looks way better than a 3" lifted, completely trimmed-out, little-bus-yellow XD sitting on the lot.

LOL...
I am guessing that "assuming stealth mode" is a good friend of yours Ho!

I don't know who "Assuming Stealth Mode" is, but I think we clearly defined Ho's truck as "baby shit yellow" in previous threads. ;-)

I also like this rig:

and the one on the "will a D2 roof rack fit on a D1?" thread.

I was just looking at that rig (Terry Gillard) this morning and admiring the setup before stumbling on this post. I have a white 99 SD that would hopefully morph into something like that when it grows up.
Just to comment on your "stock disco", there's absolutely nothing wrong with that man! I've had mine for two years now and it's still bone stock! I take it off the road everytime I get a chance and it's just fine - actually it's awesome! Go on take the road less travelled and send the pics to the d'web boys, I'm sure they have enough disk space!

Hey guys...I was looking at the pic of the suspension and noticed that there are spacers to prevent the spring from sliding off when fully articulated. I was just wondering..but it seems to me that when the spring is not up against the body then there is no force pushing down on the tire ..right? Isn't the tire just hanging there without any down force from the spring? If so then there is no traction right?

Another thing that might be a problem with what I mentioned in my previous post is that once the tire (with no down force from the spring) gets that light, then isn't just going to spin because all of the engine power is going to the tire with the least resistance , due to the limited slip?
