MY DRIVER'S SIDE REAR WINDOW IS OFF THE TRACK, THE MOTOR WORKS, I CAN HEAR IT GOING UP AND DOWN WHEN I PUSH THE REAR WINDOW BUTTON. I WANT TO SEE IF I CAN FIX THIS BY MYSELF, BUT, I DON'T KNOW HOW TO OPEN THE DOOR PANEL SO I CAN SEE THE WINDOW MOTOR. I'VE REMOVED THE DOOR HANDLE BUT DON'T KNOW QUITE HOW TO PULL THE PANEL OUT.

from the factory workshop manual:
"detach the trim panel by insertng a trim panel removing tool between the trim panel and the inner door panel, gently prise out the plastic securing clips from their respective holes in the inner panel"
There are a number of plastic posts spaced every few inches around the perimeter that hold the panel to the door.
You can get a universal trim panel removing tool fairly inexpensively at any auto parts store.
You need to unscrew both the door pull and the interior door release handle surround.
Good luck.

I was able to remove the trim panel, but, now the motor won't work. The rear window on the other side works just fine. I checked the fuse, both rear windows run off one fuse. Could it be the motor that's bad? Do the windows have their own separate motors?

Your first post said that you could hear the motor running before you took the door apart. The motor is connected through the same connector that goes to the switch on the door, which you probably had to remove to get the panel off. Try jiggling it to be sure it is plugged in firmly. Or look for wires that may have been damaged in the panel removal process. If the window motor was running and the window is not moving, I think it is the regulator mechanism that connects to the window motor. I have no experience with those - try checking the archives. Good luck.

Wow same problem with my 99 Disco Series I. It broke on me Saturday afternoon. But I am taking to the dealer on Monday to have them fix it under warranty.
