OME spring spacer rings are thin (10mm or 5mm) shims made of yellow nylon that fit between the spring and the retaining cup on top or bottom of the springs.

On my '97 Disco I fitted a 10mm ring at the bottom of the both front springs and on the passenger side fitted a single 5mm on the top of the spring. The spring won't seat properly at the top on the passenger side and is riding on the ridge or lip of the retaining cup. will this cause damage to the spring or the frame? I tried twice to reseat the spring and gave out from the heat.

I'm trying to gain extra room in the wheel well and level up the passenger side.

Questions: Is it recommended to fit a spacer at the top or the bottom or both? Anyone ever used these? I got them straight from the OME factory via the internet.

Thanks

Ron

i had them, it's just a pad. install anyway you like. top bottom, it don't matter. I used glue to attach them to the spring, makes them easier to install.

Be Careful installing these "Spring Packers" on the bottom of the Spring. ARB recommends against it. Given the depth of the lip on the lower spring plate that keeps the spring from shifting, it would seem like a bad idea. It looks like there would be little if any of that lip still extended with the last coil of the Spring to provide stability to the spring. Did that make sense?
