I have a 1997 Discovery XD and am looking to lift it but only want new shocks and springs, nothing else. What would be your suggestions on springs and shocks. Right now i am looking at Rovertyme springs, OME springs, OME shocks, Bilstein shocks, and Rancho shocks. Please help me i want the lift soon.

need more info:

how much lift were you thinking about?

how did you arrive at that number?

(for instance , you want lift for bigger tires)

are you more concerned about onroad feel or offroad feel?

Dewey,

RTE is supposed to be the best in the business but they are back ordered in the custom springs. If you have to do it quick, order a set of OME springs and either OME shocks or Bilsteins (better on road manners).

Here's what I have:

'97 Disco OME 751 front (HD) and OME 763 rear (Extra HD), OME nitrocharger shocks all around. I have 245 75 r16 BFG's and no rubbing or trimming. Measurements from senter of hub to top of fender lip are 20 3/4" DSFR, 20 1/2" PSFR, 21" DSRR, and 21 PSRR. I installed 10mm spacer on the front drivers side and both rear sides and 15mm spacers on the passenger side front to level it up.

I like the height, but want to go to RTE 3+ with modified radius arms, long travel shock mounts, rear trailing arms, extended brake lines and 4.10 gears for taller tires.

Ron

Just a note,
If you go with the OME springs be sure to put at least 10 mm spacers on passenger side springs as you will have at least 1/2" lean without them.

and if you do so, it will sit level with nobody behind the steer, but lean to the driver's side when you're in.

do decide who's going to be taking photos - you or your family members, and from this go with or without spacers :-)
