I was at the auto store and they had these sping spacers that fit in between the spings towards the middle. I have seen them on one other Disco.
The question is how safe are the and will they in an off road situation. I can't do the knew springs yet,and i wanted a little more clearence for Solaros.
Any input?

they are hunks of rubber that can fall out. i would not recommend them. springs and spacers are cheap, especially if you install them yourself. you can check around for used springs too.

The ones that I saw were made out of metal.They wedged in between the springs and clamped on.
Has anyone seen this type?

They just make your springs harder feeling and its definately not a good off road thing...you will just bend your springs at the spacers. I would vote against that type of spacer. I put them on my 59 chevy back then, just bouncy and hard.

Don't use the spring spacers, especially the metal ones. They really screw up your suspension. They prevent the springs from compressing properly and like the previous person mentioned, it ruins the springs. On road, it might not be so important, but off-road, you will definately run into problems. A set of 4 new springs runs about $250.00. In the big picture, that is a pretty inexpensive.
