I remember some time ago someone saying that you should tell your dealer not to change your transmission fluid filter when you get your 60,000 mile service. I was just wondering if this was the case or if it was something else.
Thank You

Yes,
There was a serive bulletin saying that you only have to change it at 30k and that is it. While you can have them change it is apparently unnecessary and do to the complexity of the change (you have to take off the exhaust and the x member) it is a high ducket item labor wise, in addition to the cost of the part which is not cheap. A simple fluid change is enough. If you want to spend money on the tranny buy high quality synthetic ATF. It is worth it IMHO.

I have my transmission fluid drained and refill at 30,000 miles but did not bring to the dealer for service. Im so poor. Is this okey?

Yes, fine. That is all that is needed. You check a lot of stuff and change the oil in the difs, T-box, and engine then too.

Great write up of a do it yourself 60K service on a disco.
